Britney Spears

Britney Spears on January 3, 2008, Britney Spears refused to relinquish custody of her sons to Federline’s representatives. She was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, after police that arrived at her house noted she appeared to be under the influence of an illicit substance. The following day, Britney Spears visitation rights were suspended at an emergency court hearing, and Federline was given sole physical and legal custody of the children. On January 31, 2008, Britney Spears was committed to the psychiatric ward of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and put on 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. The court placed her under temporary conservatorship of her father James Spears and attorney Andrew Wallete, giving them complete control of her assets. Britney Spears was released on February 6, 2008. Her parents expressed disappointment and concern at the decision to release her.[92] The following month, she guest-starred on the How I Met Your Mother episode “Ten Sessions” as receptionist Abby. She received positive reviews for her performance, as well as bringing the series highest ratings ever. In July 2008, Spears regained some visitation rights after coming to an agreement with Federline and his counsel. On September 7, 2008, Spears opened the MTV Video Music Awards with a pre-taped comedy sketch with Jonah Hill and an introduction speech. Britney Spears won Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video Of The Year for “Piece of Me”.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears sixth studio album Circus, was released in December 2008. It received positive reviews from critics; according to the music review aggregation of Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 64/100. Circus debuted at number one in Canada, Czech Republic and the United States, and inside the top in many European nations. In the United States, Britney Spears became the youngest female artist to have five albums debut at number one, earning a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Britney Spears also became the only act in the Sound scan era to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more copies sold. Circus became one of the fastest-selling albums of the year, and has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide. Its lead single, “Womanizer”, became her first number one in the Billboard Hot 100 since “…Baby One More Time” and topped the charts in countries such as Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway and Sweden. In January 2009, Spears and her father James obtained a restraining order against her former manager Sam Lufti, ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley—all of whom, court documents claim, had been conspiring to gain control of Britney Spears affairs. The restraining order forbids Lutfi and Ghalib from contacting Britney Spears or coming within 250 yards of her, her property or family members. Britney Spears embarked on The Circus Starring Britney Spears in March 2009. With a gross of U.S. $131.8 million, it became the fifth highest grossing tour of the year. She released her second greatest hits album, The Singles Collection in November 2009. “3″ became her third number one single in the US, and was the first song to debut at the top of the charts in three years. Later that month, Britney Spears released an application for iPhone and iPod Touch titled “It’s Britney!”. In May 2010, Britney Spears representatives confirmed she was dating her agent Jason Trawick, and that they had decided to end their professional relationship to focus on their personal relationship. Britney Spears also became the most followed user on social networking service Twitter. Britney Spears designed a limited edition clothing line for Candie’s. It was released on stores in July 2010.

Britney Spears

And early March 2010, it was confirmed by Britney Spears label that she was working on her seventh studio album and that no official release date had been confirmed or announced. Further confirmation came when a representative for Britney told People’s web site that after completing her tour, Spears had been in the studio working on her next album. And now in current year 2011 Britney Spears again hit the music industry with her new album Femme Fatale and with the top hit video "Hold it Against Me"

Nicki minaj attend royal wedding

Nicki minaj attend royal wedding

Nicki Minaj is reportedly flying into the UK especially for the Royal Wedding.

The US rapper is currently on tour across America and Canada but is said to have hired a private jet to fly her in and out of the country for the special occasion, as she wants to witness the ceremony firsthand.

Minaj does not have an invite to the wedding, but has apparently booked an apartment near to Westminster Abbey, where the nuptials will take place, and from where she can watch the day's events unfold.

It is rumoured she has even selected a regal outfit to wear for her visit.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will tie the knot on Friday, April 29.

Paris Hilton style gets upstaged

Paris Hilton's style gets upstaged

One way to make a statement on the red carpet? Wear an attention-grabbing magenta leopard-print frock! Both celebutante Paris Hilton and "Slumdog Millionaire" actress Freida Pinto donned the same stunning Marchesa dress for different events. Question is ... who wore it better?

Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton rocked the Marchesa Resort 2011 dress in February for the launch of her “Passport” fragrance collection in Riverside, California. The starlet, who will soon headline the reality series “The World According to Paris,” accessorized with simple nude pumps and a wavy, side-swept ‘do.
Way back in September 2010, Pinto wore the same gown for a dinner to celebrate the premiere of her film “Miral” at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada. Freida paired her one-shoulder satin organza dress with purple Ferragamo pumps and a black-and-silver studded clutch.
The dress suits both ladies beautifully, but Freida’s dark tresses and gorgeous skin tone really make the dress pop, and her color-coordinated heels are the perfect accessory. For me, Ms. Pinto wins this battle hands down.

pregnant celebrity cover girls

pregnant celebrity cover girls

Mariah Carey is the latest mum-to-be to adopt the pregnancy pose made famous by Demi Moore back in the '90s. Just weeks away from her due date, the pop star, who's pregnant with twins, admitted to feeling "vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now" but "didn't want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience," she told US magazine Life & Style, whose cover she graces this week.

A lot has changed since the advent of the pregnancy pose or 'PP'. The shoots are no longer controversial, and have even been adapted by non-famous future mums hoping to capture their bodies in the uniquely graceful third term state. What hasn't changed much is the pose: one hand cupping breasts, body in profile, head turned toward camera. You know the drill...

 1991: Demi Moore
You always remember your first. When Annie Leibovitz shot Moore for the cover of Vanity Fair's August issue, she created a media uproar. Was this sexual objectification or female empowerment? People debated this issue as long as they possibly could so they could have an excuse to study the glamour shot. These days, the pose is anything but shocking. It's an industry standard.
 1999: Cindy Crawford
Before we launched into a new millennium, the 90s supermodel had one last order of A-list business: get naked pregnant. Seven months into her pregnancy with son Presley, she landed the cover of W standing in classic profile, boob cup pose.
 2006: Britney Spears
Leave it to Britney to up the stakes with a full frontal bump shot on the cover of Harper's Bazaar. At the time she was pregnant with her second child and just months from her very public breakdown.
 2007: Christina Aguilera
When a still married X-tina posed in her third trimester for Marie-Claire, she let a cropped leather jacket solve the perennial problem of covering her boobs and posing like Betty Paige at the same time. "We were planning on starting to try after the tour," Aguilera candidly shared with the magazine. "And so, I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn't know how much time it would take. You've heard it takes some time - except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here ... I'm like, Oh, my God, can you believe it just happened?"
 2008: Thomas Beatie
The thing about the pregnant pose is that both arms have a purpose: one directs attention to the belly, the other expresses a fraction of modesty. But when the world's first technically pregnant man posed for People, modesty was tossed out like dirty diapers. "The only thing different about me is that I can't breastfeed my baby. But a lot of mothers don't," Beatie told People magazine, then preparing for second child. Beatie neglected to mention the other thing that set him apart: yeah, you know what I'm talking about.
 2010: Claudia Schiffer
German Vogue put the supermodel on their cover in a pose we've see before. Like most celebrity prego models, she was 7 months along (and showing more than Crawford), and more than willing to prove that a baby bump is the height of fashion. The only person who seemed to need that proof was the man who shot it, Karl Lagerfeld. The designer-cum-photographer had famously said that curvy women aren't attractive. But Schiffer didn't see the irony: "It was important to us to show how beautiful it is to be a woman and that you can have a positive attitude towards your body, including when you're expecting," she said in the issue which also featured her dressed as a pregnant nun.

 2011: Mariah Carey
Who needs Annie Leibovitz? A few days before her Life & Style cover, Mariah tweeted this semi-nude photo of her twin-sized belly, painted with a butterfly and the words 'Dem Babies'. In a way, this photo was more exciting than Mariah's magazine cover shoot, which showed more flesh. It's hard to excite a public who's already witnessed two supermodels, three superstars and man nude with child.

The worst celebrity tattoos

The worst celebrity tattoos

Megan Fox is obviously a huge fan of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. She has a portrait of Marilyn tattooed on her inner right forearm. As much as she admires the buxom blonde movie star we think it is a bit weird to have a permanent mark of another person on your arm.

Hayden Panettiere shows off her tattoo on the left side of her back but the Italian words are misspelt. In full her tattoo reads ‘Vivere senza rimipianti’, which is meant to translate as, ‘to live without regrets’. Unfortunately the last word has an extra ‘I’, and should instead be ‘rimpianti’.

Mike Tyson is fierce enough without the facial tattoo so really he didn’t need his tribal ink. His tattoo is Maori-influenced by which is meant to make the wearer look ferocious.

Amy Winehouse was one of the most talked about celebrities of 2009. Her individual style made her stand out and this included her tattoos. She had her ex-husband’s name ‘Blake’ inscribed on her chest in 2005 just one month after they started dating.

Pamela Anderson made the mistake of tattooing barb wire around the top of her arm. In the ‘90s it was cool but as trends changed Pam received a lot of slack for her body art.

Steve-O is one of the daredevil cast members on MTV’s Jackass and Wild Boys. He inked a portrait of himself to cover the whole of his back. Steve-O is known for doing all kinds of crazy stunts so this is nothing out of the ordinary; he accompanied the portrait with the words “Yeah, dude I rock!” and his autograph.

Britney Spears is no stranger to odd tattoos, sporting a fairy on her lower back and a set of pink lips on her wrist. But the offending ink here is the Kabbalah-inspired tattoo that was supposed to read ‘God’ but was misspelt. She has since had it removed.

David Beckham is covered in tats and it must be said he doesn’t look bad at all. One of his sleeves includes Victoria’s name written in Sanskrit, but spelt ‘Vichtoria’. Oops!

Rihanna has made two tattoo blunders. In 2009 she had ‘forgiveness’ in Hindu Sanskrit tattooed on her hip – with the wrong spelling. She also had ‘Rebelle fleur’ inked in French on her neck last year but put the adjective before the noun so it translates as ‘flower rebel’ instead of ‘rebel flower’.

Kelly Osbourne’s tattoo choices were not so well thought out; the anchor and synthesizer body art on her arms are not subtle. She has decided to get a few of her 15 tattoos removed after realising they were a mistake.

I'm A Slave For Britney Hits! (The Top 5 BEST Britney Spars Singles)

Finally something we can all agree on: Britney Spears has her fair share of memorable hits! Here’s what I think are the best ones though.

5.) “Womanizer”
(from the album Circus)
This was another twisted point of view from Britney Spears, very reminiscent of “Toxic” (not just the song, but the video too). It’s quite repetitive in some areas of the chorus, but that’s what makes it one of the most infectious Britney singles released.

4.) “Baby One More Time”
(from the album Baby One More Time)
How can you have a “Best of Britney” list and not include her debut single? From the pop lyrics of the song that captures the spirit of the time, to the famous video which she dons that famous school girl outfit, it left its mark in pop culture. It was a welcome bandwagon for Britney Spears into the world of pop music.

3.) “I’m a Slave 4 U”
(from the album Britney)
She finally came into her own with this song. Sure there was always some kind of rebellion and sexiness with singles prior to this (“Oops!...I Did It Again” anyone?) but she finally took it to the next level with her sexiest vocals to date, thanks to the production quality from The Neptunes. Only adding more greatness to the song was the sexy, sweaty music video, as well as the snake dance at the VMA’s that year.

2.) “Gimme More”
(from the album Blackout)
Who can resist the open line “It’s Britney, bitch!”? It was a new Britney we were hearing, and it helped us begin to move past her troubles in the public eye. She was getting back to what she does best, and that’s coming out with infectious music you can’t get out of your head, but you really didn’t mind that it was there to begin with!

1.) “Toxic”
(from the album In The Zone)
This just happens to be the only thing in Britney’s career that she’s won a Grammy for, and we certainly know why. It was the perfect mix of upbeat pop music, with a little Tango twist, mixed in with a little bit of Bollywood sound. It’s one of the best pop singles in music out there still today!

Oops!...She Shouldn't Do These Again! (Britney Spears' Worst Singles)

I found it very hard to find 5 bad singles from Ms. Britney, as there is really only one I can’t stand. But I did my best to come up with the “not so good” list.

5.) “Me Against the Music”
(from the album In The Zone)
Compared to her other first single choices, this one doesn’t stand out as one of the most memorable. Madonna’s contribution sounded like a great idea, but it didn’t really live up to the hype of the infamous kiss at the VMA’s that they shared prior to this release.

4.) “Oops!...I Did It Again”
(from the album Oops!...I Did It Again)
A guilty pleasure song from a guilty pleasure album, but there’s one thing that makes it one of the worst for me. That one thing is her obnoxious dialogue towards the end. “But I thought the old lady dropped it into in the ocean in the end?” Cheesy to the MAX!

3.) “From The Bottom of My Broken Heart”
(from the album Baby One More Time)
This made it onto the list because its one of the more unknown songs she’s released, and sad to say that it’s one of the most forgettable.

2.) “Lucky”
(from the album Oops!...I Did It Again)
A pure pop song that is one of the more corny ones coming from Ms. Britney Spears. It’s the tale of a superstar named Lucky, not feeling too good about her fame because she “cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart” every night. A signature Britney song, but for all the wrong reasons.

1.) “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman”
(from the album Britney)
Here it is, the most annoying Britney song in my opinion. If you’re not a girl, but not yet a woman, then what the hell are you?!! It was a confusing metaphor, one that only served the purpose to be the theme of her film debut in Crossroads, something else I’ve forgiven her for because it actually isn’t as bad as Mariah’s Glitter. But still, this song was just unnecessary. And having an artist like Dido claim a songwriting credit was pretty sad too.

From The Worst to the Best of Britney Spears Albums

As we’ve all come to know, Britney Spears' mark on pop culture is quite remarkable. And while she’s had her share of misfortune where her personal life is concerned, no one can deny that her albums have done their best to adapt with the changing times. She may not have the best voice in the business, but she certainly leaves her mark on some of the most memorable moments in music alone. From the worst to best, here are the albums of Ms. Britney Spears...

9.) The Singles Collection

It was a great effort putting her singles in order of their release, but what puts this album at the bottom of the list was its odd choice of singles to select. Was “Born To Make You Happy” even released here in the US? Where was “Sometimes”? And as much as “Lucky” annoys me, it was one of her more memorable singles, compared to this album including “Radar”.
FAVORITE SONG: "3"

8.) Greatest Hits: My Prerogative

Of course I have to get the greatest hits collections out of the way before the really good stuff. What makes this one better than “The Singles Collection” was its inclusion of new material and a mix of some of her REAL greatest hits.
FAVORITE SONG: "Do Somethin'"

7.) Baby One More Time

It was the first release that introduced her to the world, but when its compared to all her other work, it lacks a lot of depth. It was pure bubblegum pop at its finest: it includes a pop cover, an attempt at reggae, and a corny metaphor involving e-mail of all things.
FAVORITE SONG: "Sometimes"

6.) In The Zone

This is one of her most under appreciated albums to date. Maybe it was just all of the drama with her breakup from JT, followed by her quickie marriage and annulment, not to mention the beginning of the downward spiral with K-Fed. But it was here that Britney proved she was all grown-up. From having Madonna as a featured guest, to mixing banjo music into a Hip-Hop song, even singing about pleasuring herself, it was the start of the electro-Britney that we know and love today
FAVORITE SONG: "Toxic"

5.) Britney

Here is when we realized Britney wasn’t a little girl anymore, and she was willing to get away from her bubblegum pop image, at least for a little while. It’s the hip-hop contributions from The Neptunes and Darkchild that make this album a standout for me.The pop princess does go back to her roots with songs like “Cinderella”, but she strives for a darker, sexier side with tracks like “Boys”.
FAVORITE SONG: "I'm a Slave 4 U"

4.) Circus

This one delivered a great comeback for Britney after all of her hard times in the public eye. The singles “Womanizer”, “Circus”, and “If U Seek Amy” may be the most memorable things from this album, which also includes duds like “Mmm Papi” or “Out From Under”.
FAVORITE SONG: "Unusual You"

3.) Oops!...I Did It Again

This was a far better effort than her debut, and one that I consider my guilty pleasure. From a pop cover of The Rolling Stones, to the infectious first single, the hits just keep coming from this album. And let’s not forget the maturity of songwriting from having someone e-mail her heart in the first disc to writing in her diary on this one with the cheesiest lyrics to date (“Dear Diary, today I saw a boy and I wondered if he noticed me. He took my breath away”). I've forgiven you Britney, don't you worry!
FAVORITE SONG: "One Kiss From You"

2.) Femme Fatale

Britney continues her reign as the pop princess with her most recent release. What makes it the second best is the fact that she truly has outdone herself with outstanding club tracks, and one of her best start-to-finish albums ever. Dr. Luke and Max Martin lead the way with terrific production (not to mention other great contributions from Stargate, Darkchild, & will.i.am).
FAVORITE SONG:  "Up N' Down"

1.) Blackout

Although people consider Circus to be her big comeback album, Blackout is the real comeback in my eyes. From start to finish, she offers a dark look into her personal problems living in the public eye. And let’s not forget her atrocious performance of “Gimme More” at the VMA’s where it seemed like she had finally lost it all. But even with that performance in mind, the song still stands out as one of her best to date. Who can forget her opening of “It’s Britney, bitch”? Danja and Bloodshy & Avant (not to mention my favorite contribution from Sean Garrett) did a terrific job helping to turn Britney’s image around and offer some of the best production quality in Britney’s career.
FAVORITE SONG: "Toy Soldier"
